Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your cake pans.
  2. Prepare the dry ingredients by sifting together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
  3. Whisk the vegetable oil, granulated sugar, and eggs until smooth.
  4. Introduce the buttermilk, red food coloring, vanilla extract, and vinegar; mix gently.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until you have a smooth batter.
  6. Fill the prepared pans evenly with the batter.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
