Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Vanilla ice cream (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with flour.
  2. Melt the butter and chocolate chips together in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, egg yolks, and granulated sugar until pale and frothy.
  4. Combine the melted chocolate mixture with the egg mixture and stir to combine.
  5. Fold in the flour and salt until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared ramekins, filling them three-quarters full.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes until the edges are firm but the center is soft.
  8. Cool for 1 minute, then invert onto plates.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with vanilla ice cream if desired.

Notes

For a fruity twist, consider adding a dollop of raspberry puree into the center before baking.
