Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for whipped cream)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the whole milk.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Combine the evaporated milk and sweetened condensed milk. Poke holes in the cooled cake and pour the milk mixture over it.
  8. Beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form, then spread over the soaked cake.
  9. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.

Notes

For best flavor, allow the cake to chill overnight. Serve with fresh fruit or vanilla ice cream.
