A rich and creamy Italian dessert made with layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup brewed espresso, cooled
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 24 ladyfingers
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. Whisk the yolks and sugar in a mixing bowl until pale and creamy. Add the mascarpone cheese and mix until smooth.
  2. Whip the heavy cream in a separate bowl until soft peaks form, then fold into the mascarpone mixture.
  3. Dip each ladyfinger in the cooled espresso briefly, then layer half of them in the bottom of a dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  4. Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers and top with the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 240 minutes or overnight.
  6. Dust with cocoa powder before serving.

Notes

Use quality mascarpone and espresso for the best flavor. Don’t soak ladyfingers too long.
