Tender and juicy chicken thighs glazed in a sweet and savory teriyaki sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup mirin (or honey)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • Green onions, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Create the Marinade: In a bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger to create the marinade.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Add chicken thighs to the marinade and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
  3. Prepare the Skillet: Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Remove Chicken from Marinade: Remove chicken from marinade, reserving the marinade.
  5. Cook the Chicken: Cook the chicken thighs in the skillet for 6-7 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  6. Thicken the Sauce: Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet and simmer for a few minutes until thickened.
  7. Serve with Garnish: Serve the chicken thighs garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For maximum flavor, consider marinating the chicken overnight. You can substitute soy sauce with tamari for a gluten-free option.
