A nostalgic sweet fruit salsa paired with crispy cinnamon sugar tortilla chips, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 apple, diced (Use a sweet variety like Fuji or Honeycrisp.)
  • 1 kiwi, diced
  • 1 cup strawberries, diced (Fresh strawberries work best.)
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice (Freshly squeezed lime juice is recommended.)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional) (Adjust based on sweetness preference.)
  • 4 pieces flour tortillas (Can substitute with whole wheat tortillas.)
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar (1 tablespoon cinnamon + 1 tablespoon sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (Can use oil as a lower-fat alternative.)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fresh Fruits: Start by dicing the apple, kiwi, and strawberries into small, even pieces. Gently mix the fruits together in a large bowl.
  2. Add Zest and Sweetness: Sprinkle the lime juice over the fruit mixture, then add honey if you want to enhance the sweetness. Toss everything together gently to ensure each juicy piece is coated.
  3. Create the Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt the butter in a small bowl. Brush one side of each tortilla with melted butter, then sprinkle cinnamon sugar generously over that side.
  4. Bake the Chips: Place the tortillas on a baking sheet, sugar-side up, and bake for about 10 minutes or until they’re crisp and golden. Let them cool slightly, then cut into triangles.
  5. Serve Delightfully: Spoon the fresh fruit salsa into a serving bowl and arrange the warm cinnamon sugar tortilla chips around it. Enjoy!

Notes

Use ripe, in-season fruits for the best flavor and sweetness. Experiment with different fruits and spices for variations.
