A nostalgic and delightful dessert featuring a fluffy yellow cake soaked in vibrant strawberry gelatin, topped with fresh strawberries and whipped topping.

  • 1 box of yellow cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 package (3 oz) of strawberry gelatin
  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • 1 cup of cold water
  • 2 cups of sliced strawberries
  • 1 tub (8 oz) of whipped topping
  • 1/2 cup of powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease and flour a 9×13 inch pan.
  2. Combine the yellow cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water in a large bowl. Mix until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  4. Bake according to package instructions, usually 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Mix the strawberry gelatin with 1 cup of boiling water, stirring until dissolved, then stir in cold water.
  6. Poke holes all over the top of the cooled cake using a fork.
  7. Pour the gelatin mixture evenly over the cake, ensuring it seeps into all holes.
  8. Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours, or until the gelatin is set.
  9. Top the cake with fresh strawberries and spread the whipped topping mixed with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

For best flavor, use fresh strawberries. This cake can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge.
