A nostalgic dessert featuring a fluffy yellow cake soaked in strawberry Jello, topped with strawberries and whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 box of strawberry Jell-O
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 package of yellow cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the cake mix by combining it with the eggs and vegetable oil. Blend until creamy, then pour into a greased cake pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
  3. Dissolve the strawberry Jell-O in 1 cup of boiling water, then add 1 cup of cold water and let cool.
  4. Poke holes in the top of the cooled cake and pour the cooled strawberry Jell-O over it.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
  6. Garnish with sliced strawberries and whipped cream before serving.

Notes

Make sure your cake is completely cooled before pouring the Jell-O. Don’t skip the chilling time for the best texture.
