Classic Steak Frites brings the taste of Paris to your table with juicy steak and crispy fries, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound steak (ribeye, sirloin, or flank)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°F (95°C) to keep your fries warm as you cook.
  2. Prepare the potatoes by cutting them into thin fries and soaking them in cold water for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Pat dry the fries with paper towels to remove all moisture.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the potatoes in batches until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes per batch.
  6. Season the steak generously with salt and pepper.
  7. Sear the steak in a skillet with olive oil for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
  8. Rest the steak for a few minutes before slicing.
  9. Plate the steak alongside the fries, garnished with parsley if desired.

Notes

For even crispier fries, consider double frying. Use a thermometer to check steak temperature for desired doneness.
