Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the sliced peaches, half a cup of sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl; stir well and set aside.
  3. Mix together the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Slowly pour in the milk and melted butter, stirring until just combined.
  4. Grease a baking dish and pour in the batter, spreading it evenly across the bottom.
  5. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter without stirring.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Serve warm, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For best flavor, use ripe, fresh peaches. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
