A simple yet delightful breakfast or light lunch featuring creamy avocado spread on perfectly toasted sourdough bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh lemon juice (optional)
  • Olive oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Toast the sourdough bread slices until golden brown.
  2. Prepare the avocado by cutting it in half, removing the pit, and scooping the flesh into a bowl.
  3. Mash the avocado with a fork, seasoning with salt, pepper, and lemon juice if desired.
  4. Spread the mashed avocado evenly onto the toasted sourdough bread.
  5. Add a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes if using.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh; store leftover mashed avocado in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours with lemon juice to prevent browning.
