Delicious homemade soft pretzel bites that are perfectly chewy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, sprinkled with coarse sea salt.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup baking soda
  • Coarse sea salt for sprinkling
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  3. Stir in flour and salt to form a dough and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
  5. Divide the dough into small pieces and shape them into bite-sized pretzel shapes.
  6. Bring 10 cups of water and baking soda to a boil.
  7. Boil the pretzel bites for about 30 seconds on each side, then remove and place on a baking sheet.
  8. Brush each bite with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sea salt.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with your favorite dips. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
