Delicious, soft, and chewy snickerdoodle cookies, dusted with cinnamon sugar, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (for rolling)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and 1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating until well incorporated.
  4. Combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually mix into the butter mixture.
  5. Roll the dough into balls and coat with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  6. Bake on ungreased baking sheets for 8 to 10 minutes, until edges are set.
  7. Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For extra cinnamon flavor, mix a pinch of cinnamon into the dough. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
