Tender, juicy pork shoulder slow-cooked with citrus and spices for a flavorful meal perfect for tacos or burritos.

Ingredients

  • 34 pounds pork shoulder
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 orange, juiced
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 2 bay leaves

Instructions

  1. Place the pork shoulder in the slow cooker, letting it take center stage.
  2. Add the quartered onion, minced garlic, ground cumin, dried oregano, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour the freshly squeezed orange and lime juice over the pork.
  4. Add the bay leaves to the mixture.
  5. Cover your slow cooker and let it work its magic. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours.
  6. Once cooked, shred the meat with two forks.

Notes

Serve with corn tortillas, pineapple, cilantro, and lime for a delicious taco night. This dish is also great for meal prep and can be stored up to 4 days in the fridge or frozen for 2-3 months.
