  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix together the flour, brown sugar, and softened butter until crumbly.
  3. Combine the molasses, hot water, baking soda, vanilla extract, and salt in a separate bowl.
  4. Pour the molasses mixture into the pie crust.
  5. Sprinkle the crumb mixture over the molasses layer.
  6. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the filling is set.
  7. Allow the pie to cool before serving.
