A comforting casserole featuring ground meat, tangy sauerkraut, and fluffy rice, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 jar (16 oz) sauerkraut, drained
  • 1 lb ground beef or sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef or sausage in a skillet over medium heat until cooked.
  3. Stir in the chopped onion and cook until soft.
  4. Combine the meat mixture, sauerkraut, cooked rice, diced tomatoes, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the mixture.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until heated through and cheese is melted.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy with loved ones!

Notes

For added flavor, sauté garlic with the onions or top the casserole with breadcrumbs before cheese.
