A comforting sausage egg casserole that’s fluffy, cheesy, and packed with flavors, perfect for brunch gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 cups cubed bread
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until it’s browned; drain excess fat.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl.
  4. Combine the cooked sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, cubed bread, chopped onion, and chopped bell pepper into the egg mixture.
  5. Prepare a greased baking dish and pour the mixture into it, spreading evenly.
  6. Bake for 30-40 minutes until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
  7. Cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using Italian sausage or spicy sausage instead. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
