A delightful roasted garlic bread with crispy crust and a soft interior, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 head of garlic, roasted
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh herbs (optional)
  • Chili flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a large bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly and fragrant.
  2. Combine the dough ingredients: Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the frothy yeast mixture. Mix until combined into a loose dough.
  3. Knead to perfection: On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  4. Infuse with roasted garlic: Incorporate the roasted garlic into the dough, working it in gently until evenly distributed.
  5. Let it rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  7. Shape the dough: Turn the risen dough onto a floured surface, shaping it into a loaf. Place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Add toppings: Sprinkle the top with grated Parmesan cheese and optional herbs or chili flakes.
  9. Bake to golden brown: Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Serve and savor: Once baked, serve hot, drizzled with olive oil if desired.
