A classic French dish featuring a flaky pie crust filled with creamy custard, crispy bacon, and Gruyère cheese, perfect for brunch or dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 8 ounces bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan and bake for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, milk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  4. Stir in the crumbled bacon and shredded cheese.
  5. Pour the egg mixture into the pre-baked pie crust.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until set and lightly golden on top.
  7. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Feel free to customize your quiche with your favorite vegetables or cheese. A store-bought pie crust can save you time.
