A classic French quiche featuring a creamy custard filled with crumbled bacon, Swiss cheese, and onions, perfect for brunch or dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pie crust
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, milk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if desired).
  3. Place the pie crust into a pie dish.
  4. Layer the base of the crust with crumbled bacon, followed by onion, and then Swiss cheese.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the layered ingredients.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until set and lightly browned.
  7. Let the quiche cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For an extra flaky crust, consider pre-baking it for 5-7 minutes. Ensure eggs are at room temperature for a smoother custard.
