Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pork chops
  • 1 cup of beef broth
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the pork chops generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear the pork chops in a skillet with melted butter over medium heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side.
  3. Set aside the pork chops on a plate to rest.
  4. Sauté the sliced onions in the same skillet until they soften, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Create the roux by sprinkling flour over the onions and cooking for another minute.
  6. Incorporate the beef broth gradually while stirring to avoid lumps.
  7. Simmer the gravy until it thickens, then return the pork chops to the skillet.
  8. Cover and cook for about 10 more minutes.
  9. Serve the pork chops with the gravy spooned generously on top.

Notes

Pairs well with creamy mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed green beans.
