A creamy, elegant Italian dessert that is surprisingly easy to make and can be dressed up with various toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons gelatin powder
  • 3 tablespoons cold water

Instructions

  1. Combine the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract in a saucepan. Heat over medium until the sugar dissolves and mixture is hot but not boiling.
  2. Sprinkle the gelatin over cold water in a small bowl and let sit for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the softened gelatin mixture to the warm cream mixture. Stir gently until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
  4. Remove from heat and pour carefully into molds or ramekins.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or until set firm.
  6. Carefully unmold each Panna Cotta onto a plate and enjoy!

Notes

Pairs well with fruit coulis, berry compote, or caramel sauce. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to a month.
