Delightful bars combining the flavors of orange and cream, reminiscent of summer nostalgia.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup orange Jell-O
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter, stirring until well mixed. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a baking dish to form a solid crust. Bake for 10 minutes until it’s lightly golden.
  2. Mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gently fold in the whipped cream, being careful not to deflate it. Spread this mixture evenly over the cooled crust, smoothing the top.
  3. Dissolve the orange Jell-O in one cup of boiling water. Stir in the orange juice and zest to infuse flavor. Allow it to cool slightly before pouring over the cream cheese layer.
  4. Refrigerate the dessert for at least 4 hours until it sets beautifully. Once chilled, slice into bars and serve cold.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
