Delightful French macarons filled with a rich Nutella ganache, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 cup Nutella
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the almond flour and powdered sugar in a bowl until well combined.
  3. Whip egg whites, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.
  4. Fold the almond flour mixture into the egg whites gently.
  5. Pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheets using a piping bag.
  6. Let the piped macarons sit for 30 minutes until a skin forms on the surface.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Allow to cool before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. Heat the heavy cream and pour it over the Nutella and butter to prepare the ganache.
  9. Fill the macaron shells with the ganache and sandwich them together.

Notes

Ensure egg whites are at room temperature for better volume. Don’t skip the resting step for the best texture.
