A nostalgic Neapolitan ice cream cake featuring layers of chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla ice cream on a fluffy chocolate cake.

  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix
  • 3 pints of ice cream (1 each of chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla)
  • 1 cup of whipped cream
  • Chocolate syrup (for drizzling, optional)
  • Sliced strawberries or chocolate shavings (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Bake the chocolate cake according to the package instructions and let it cool completely.
  2. Slice the cake into two layers with a serrated knife.
  3. Place the bottom layer on a serving plate, ensuring it’s flat.
  4. Spread the chocolate ice cream on top of the first layer and freeze for 30 minutes.
  5. Add the second layer of cake on top of the chocolate ice cream.
  6. Spread the strawberry ice cream on this layer and freeze for another 30 minutes.
  7. Top with vanilla ice cream and freeze until firm, about 2 hours.
  8. Spread whipped cream on top of the cake before serving, and drizzle with chocolate syrup if desired.
  9. Garnish with strawberries or chocolate shavings as desired.
  10. Slice and enjoy with friends and family!

Notes

Ensure the cake is completely cool before layering with ice cream to prevent melting. Use a hot knife for easy slicing.
