A rich and moist chocolate cake that is perfect for any occasion, capturing the warm essence of family gatherings.

  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Combine the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Mix in the eggs, whole milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract using an electric mixer.
  4. Incorporate the boiling water carefully into the batter.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes and check for doneness with a toothpick.
  7. Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove and let cool completely on wire racks.

Notes

For a richer taste, substitute dark chocolate cocoa powder. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
