  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Green food coloring (optional)
  • Whipped cream for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder.
  3. Cream the sugar and softened butter until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and green food coloring if desired.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool completely before topping with whipped cream.

Notes
