Decadent layers of biscuit, caramel, and chocolate that will transport you back to childhood memories.

Ingredients

  • 250g digestive biscuits
  • 100g unsalted butter
  • 397g can of condensed milk
  • 150g light brown sugar
  • 75g golden syrup
  • 200g dark chocolate
  • Sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Crush the digestive biscuits into fine crumbs and combine them with the melted unsalted butter.
  3. Press the biscuit and butter mixture firmly into the bottom of a lined baking tin.
  4. Bake the biscuit base for about 10 minutes, or until slightly golden.
  5. Combine the condensed milk, light brown sugar, and golden syrup in a saucepan.
  6. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened and caramel color is achieved.
  7. Pour the caramel mixture over the cooled biscuit base, spreading it evenly.
  8. Prepare the dark chocolate by melting it until smooth and glossy.
  9. Pour the melted chocolate over the cooled caramel layer and smooth it out.
  10. Set in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.

Notes

Press the biscuit base down firmly for a sturdy bottom and allow caramel to cool gradually before adding chocolate.
