A nostalgic marble cake with swirls of chocolate and vanilla, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and milk, then add it to the creamed mixture, blending well.
  5. Divide the batter in half and mix cocoa powder into one portion.
  6. Pour half of the vanilla batter into the cake pan, alternate with the chocolate batter, and swirl with a knife.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage. Consider adding a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream when serving.
