  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for frosting)
  • Food coloring (optional, for frosting)
  • Sprinkles (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to get the perfect baking environment for your cookies.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well mixed.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until it’s light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract, incorporating all flavors into your creamy mixture.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Mix the powdered sugar with milk for the frosting until smooth, adding food coloring if desired.
