Delightful lemon custard-filled donuts that evoke nostalgic memories of weekend breakfasts.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup lemon custard filling
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Mix the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity halfway and adding lemon custard.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Let them cool before dusting with powdered sugar.
