Delicious Korean Chicken Bao Buns, filled with flavorful marinated chicken, fresh vegetables, and served in soft bao buns.

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 4 bao buns
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup carrots, julienned
  • 1/4 cup cucumber, sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix the Marinade: In a bowl, mix soy sauce, gochujang, sesame oil, honey, garlic, and ginger until well combined.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Place the chicken breasts into the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated, and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the marinated chicken for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and golden brown.
  4. Steam the Bao Buns: While the chicken is cooking, steam the bao buns according to package instructions.
  5. Slice the Chicken: Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest before slicing it into strips.
  6. Assemble the Bao Buns: Take a steamed bao bun and place a few slices of chicken inside, topping with shredded lettuce, julienned carrots, and cucumber slices.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and enjoy warm.
