A delicious and easy Korean dish featuring tender beef marinated in a sweet and savory sauce, perfect for family gatherings or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef ribeye or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Whisk together marinade: In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Marinate the beef: Add the sliced beef to the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat the skillet: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or grill over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Cook the beef: Add the marinated beef in a single layer and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your desired doneness.
  5. Serve and garnish: Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

For best texture, slightly freeze the beef before slicing. Marinate for longer times to intensify flavor.
