  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup melted butter (for glaze)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  7. Add the flour mixture alternately with the buttermilk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the flour.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack.
  11. For the glaze, mix 1/2 cup melted butter, 1 cup powdered sugar, and 1/4 cup buttermilk until smooth.
  12. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.

Notes

Pairs beautifully with vanilla ice cream or freshly whipped cream. Store leftovers wrapped tightly for up to three days at room temperature or freeze slices for longer storage.
