A smooth and creamy homemade vanilla ice cream that brings back warm memories of summer and the joy of crafting desserts from scratch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  2. Whisk until the sugar is dissolved and well integrated.
  3. Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency, about 20 minutes.
  4. Transfer the ice cream to a lidded container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.

Notes

For a richer taste, substitute half of the whole milk with additional heavy cream. Let frozen ice cream sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before scooping if it’s too hard.
