Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped parsley
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 egg
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 pound spaghetti
Instructions
Prepare the meatball mixture: In a bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, and pepper together until well combined. Form the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs.
Brown the meatballs: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs to the skillet. Brown them on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
Simmer the sauce: Add the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, and sugar to the skillet with the meatballs. Stir gently and let them simmer for 20-25 minutes.
Cook the spaghetti: In a pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook until al dente, then drain and set aside.
Assemble and serve: Serve the meatballs and sauce over the spaghetti. Garnish with additional Parmesan cheese and parsley if desired.
