A comforting and traditional homemade spaghetti and meatballs recipe that brings nostalgia and flavor to the dinner table.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 pound spaghetti

Instructions

  1. Prepare the meatball mixture: In a bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, and pepper together until well combined. Form the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs.
  2. Brown the meatballs: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs to the skillet. Brown them on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Simmer the sauce: Add the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, and sugar to the skillet with the meatballs. Stir gently and let them simmer for 20-25 minutes.
  4. Cook the spaghetti: In a pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  5. Assemble and serve: Serve the meatballs and sauce over the spaghetti. Garnish with additional Parmesan cheese and parsley if desired.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
