A delightful breakfast casserole featuring flaky crescent rolls, savory sausage, and gooey cheese, perfect for lazy Sunday mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can of crescent roll dough
  • 1 pound of breakfast sausage
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 2 cups of shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
  • Optional: chopped vegetables (like bell peppers or onions)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to get it nice and hot for the casserole.
  2. Cook the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain the excess fat.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Prepare the crescent roll dough by unrolling it and placing it in a greased baking dish, pressing it into the bottom and up the sides.
  5. Layer the cooked sausage evenly on top of the crescent roll dough.
  6. Pour the whisked egg mixture over the sausage and top with shredded cheese.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
  8. Cool slightly before slicing into squares and serving warm.

Notes

Grease your baking dish generously. Customize with your favorite add-ins and make it ahead by refrigerating overnight.
