A classic homemade lasagna filled with layers of savory beef, creamy ricotta, and melty mozzarella that brings everyone together.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain the excess fat and add the marinara sauce. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Mix the ricotta cheese, egg, garlic powder, basil, salt, and pepper in a bowl until smooth, creating a creamy filling.
  4. Begin layering in a baking dish: spread a thin layer of meat sauce, then place a layer of noodles, followed by the ricotta mixture, mozzarella, and more meat sauce. Repeat and end with meat sauce on top, sprinkling with Parmesan cheese.
  5. Bake the lasagna covered with foil for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before serving to help the layers set beautifully.

Notes

This lasagna pairs well with a fresh side salad or garlic bread. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days or frozen for 2-3 months.
