A delightful blend of rich chocolate flavor and buttery smoothness, this homemade fudge is quick to make and can be customized to your preferences.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, cocoa, and milk in a medium saucepan. Stir until well mixed.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring continuously until it reaches a gentle boil.
  3. Add the butter and stir until completely melted.
  4. Boil the mixture for about 5 minutes without stirring until it thickens.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract and chopped nuts if using.
  6. Pour the fudge into a greased 9×9 inch pan and let it cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks, or freeze individual squares for up to three months.
