Delightful homemade churros with a crispy exterior and soft interior, dusted with cinnamon sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients in a saucepan.
  2. Form the dough by stirring in flour once water is boiling.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time until smooth.
  4. Heat the oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
  5. Prepare the piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  6. Pipe lengths of dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
  7. Drain the churros on paper towels to remove excess grease.
  8. Coat in the cinnamon sugar mixture and serve immediately.

Notes

Churros are best enjoyed fresh. Keep leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
