Delicious homemade churros, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, coated with sweet cinnamon sugar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying
  • Cinnamon sugar (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Boil the base: In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, salt, and vegetable oil. Bring to a boil.
  2. Mix in the flour: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the flour until smooth.
  3. Cool and combine: Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then mix in the eggs one at a time, stirring until fully incorporated.
  4. Heat the oil for frying: In a frying pan, heat the oil over medium heat to around 350°F.
  5. Pipe and fry: Using a piping bag, pipe the dough into the hot oil in 4-6 inch lengths and fry until golden brown, about 2-4 minutes on each side.
  6. Drain the excess oil: Remove the churros and drain them on paper towels.
  7. Roll in cinnamon sugar: Finally, roll the churros in cinnamon sugar before serving.

Notes
