A healthy version of Chicken Shawarma, featuring marinated lean chicken breast with spices and fresh veggies, perfect for a flavorful meal.

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pita bread
  • Lettuce, sliced
  • Tomatoes, sliced
  • Cucumber, sliced
  • Yogurt sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, paprika, turmeric, coriander, salt, and pepper until combined.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Add the thinly sliced chicken to the marinade, ensuring every piece is coated. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat Your Grill: Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the Chicken: Place the marinated chicken on the hot grill, cooking for about 5-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked and golden brown.
  5. Rest the Chicken: Remove the chicken from heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
  6. Assemble: Grab your pita bread, and fill it with grilled chicken, followed by layers of sliced lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumber.
  7. Drizzle and Serve: Drizzle some yogurt sauce over the top if desired.

Notes
