A rich and creamy dish of layered potatoes, ham, and cheese, bringing comfort and togetherness to your dinner table.

  • 2 pounds potatoes, sliced
  • 2 cups cooked ham, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Arrange half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish, fanning them out for an even layer.
  3. Sprinkle half of the diced ham, chopped onion, and shredded cheese over the potatoes.
  4. Season the layers with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  5. Repeat the layering process with the remaining ingredients.
  6. Whisk together the heavy cream and milk in a bowl until combined.
  7. Pour the cream and milk mixture evenly over the layered ingredients in the baking dish.
  8. Dot the top with small pieces of butter.
  9. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20-30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  11. Allow the dish to rest for a few minutes before serving.
  12. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Best reheated in the oven.
