  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, stirring until just blended.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  7. Drop the cookie dough onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until set around the edges.
  9. Let cool on sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For a chewier cookie, consider chilling the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
