Indulge in these rich and gooey Fudgy Chocolate Dessert Squares, topped with a creamy chocolate frosting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan to prevent any sticking.
  2. Melt the butter over low heat or in the microwave, then combine it with the granulated and brown sugars until well mixed.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, along with the vanilla extract, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Combine the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and pour the mixture into the prepared pan, smoothing it out evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Beat the cream cheese until smooth, then add the heavy cream and powdered sugar, mixing until fluffy.
  8. Spread the chocolate cream on top of the cooled squares.
  9. Cut the dessert into squares and serve!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Let cooled squares sit before frosting.
