Delightful Fudgy Chocolate Cream Bars that are rich, dense, and packed with chocolate flavor, topped with a velvety ganache.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the cocoa powder, eggs, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture; mix until smooth.
  4. Incorporate the flour and salt until just combined.
  5. Fill the prepared pan with the batter and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool completely in the pan.
  8. Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until simmering.
  9. Melt the chocolate chips in the heated cream, stirring until smooth.
  10. Pour the ganache over the cooled fudgy base and spread evenly.
  11. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before cutting into squares.

Notes

Best paired with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. For storage, keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
