A delightful fusion of hot and cold, this fried ice cream recipe features a crispy cornflake coating and smooth, creamy ice cream heart, perfect for summer indulgence.

Ingredients

  • 1 quart vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup cornflakes, crushed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Oil for frying
  • Chocolate sauce (optional)
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Scoop ice cream into balls and freeze until hard, about 120 minutes.
  2. Whisk together flour, eggs, vanilla extract, and cinnamon to create a smooth batter.
  3. Roll each ice cream ball in flour, dip in the batter, and coat with the crushed cornflakes.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Fry the ice cream balls for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, until golden brown.
  6. Remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve immediately drizzled with chocolate sauce and topped with whipped cream if desired.
