These delightful French toast roll ups are sweet, crispy, and filled with a surprise of sugar. Perfect for a cozy breakfast!

Ingredients

  • 8 slices of bread
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • Butter for cooking
  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin until they are about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Mix the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon together until well combined.
  3. Dip each slice of flattened bread into the egg mixture, then place a spoonful of sugar inside and roll it up tight.
  4. Heat a generous pat of butter in a skillet over medium heat until melted and bubbling.
  5. Carefully place the roll ups in the skillet, seam-side down, and cook until golden brown on all sides.
  6. Serve the roll ups hot, drizzled generously with maple syrup.

Notes

For added flavor, try filling the roll ups with fruits, chocolate chips, or a sprinkle of nutmeg.
