  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup whipped cream for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter and mix in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cocoa powder until well combined.
  3. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Sift in the flour and salt, and mix until just blended.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Let the brownies cool completely before topping.
  7. Melt the chocolate chips and let it cool slightly.
  8. Beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gently fold in the melted chocolate until smooth.
  9. Spread the mousse over the cooled brownies and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
