A delightful dessert that captures the enchanting flavors of eggnog, vanilla, and nutmeg in a creamy, silky panna cotta, perfect for the holiday season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin powder
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • 2 ½ cups good-quality eggnog
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • â…› teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Bloom the gelatin by sprinkling it over cold water in a small bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes to soften.
  2. Warm the eggnog mixture by combining eggnog, sugar, vanilla extract, and nutmeg in a medium saucepan. Heat gently until hot but not boiling.
  3. Add the bloomed gelatin to the warm eggnog mixture and whisk until dissolved.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a measuring cup for a silky texture.
  5. Pour the mixture evenly among six 4-ounce ramekins and let them sit at room temperature for 15–20 minutes.
  6. Chill the molds in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours until set.
  7. Serve by inverting onto plates or serving directly in ramekins, garnished with nutmeg or whipped cream.

Notes

Use good-quality eggnog and don’t skip the straining step for the best texture.
